Why keep a personal site in the age of feeds?

For years, the easiest place to publish an idea has been wherever everyone else already is. Write the post, press publish, watch it move down the feed. It is convenient, immediate and strangely disposable.

A personal site asks for a little more effort. That is part of the appeal. It creates a place where ideas can accumulate instead of evaporate; where an old thought can be corrected, connected to a newer one, or found by someone months later.

I still intend to share writing on LinkedIn and elsewhere. But those places are the road, not the destination. The complete thought should live somewhere I can shape, organise and keep.

This site is therefore less a portfolio than a public notebook. I’ll use it to write about the subjects I keep returning to: travel hacking, data culture, leadership, better living, and the useful overlap between them.

The aim is not to arrive with a perfect philosophy. It is to make my thinking visible enough that it can improve.
